 DSI Alpha-2
Fluid is an ultra-pure, ultra-clean dielectric heat transfer
fluid. It has excellent cooling performance. It's
made from highly purified synthetic hydrocarbon oils and advanced
antioxidants. Alpha-2 is compatible with other hydrocarbon
oils and standard equipment materials.
Alpha-2 Fluid is widely used as a cooling fluid
in high voltage electronic equipment, in high frequency television,
radio and radar transmitters, and to cool electronic circuit
boards. It is also used as a poling fluid for ceramics
manufacturing operations.
Alpha-2 Fluid is non-corrosive and not
hazardous to workers. It can be stored, handled and processed
in the same way as standard mineral oils.
Because of its low viscosity, Alpha-2 cools
transformers better than other dielectric fluids. Equipment
that was designed to be cooled with standard mineral oils can be easily
switched to use Alpha-2 Fluid.
Alpha-2 pours at temperatures down to -65
C. It's ideal for applications in cold environments, or when
a full-load cold start is a possibility.
Being synthetic, Alpha-1 contains no sulfur at
all.
